The Patria AMV XP is the second generation of the highly successful Patria AMV and was first unveiled to the public at the 2013 DSEI Defence Expo. The abbreviation XP stands for Extra Payload, Extra Performance, Extra Protection.

Referring to the vehicles enlarged size and capability to carry increased weight, such as two manned turrets and more protection as well as the larger engine.

The XP is manufactured in two models. The standard model height is used for most manufactured variants (and other proposed ones) and a high roof model for ambulance and command variants.

Retaining its modular concept, the vehicle has an enlarged spacious interior and a higher payload carrying capability allowing the simultaneous integration of weapon systems, protection and crew equipment.

Patria AMV XP’s electrical power generation is measured to match the future requirements for C4I, Battlefield Management and Situational Awareness Systems. Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) together with the vehicle’s digital backbone ensures 21st century soldiers to have the best possible platform to meet their objectives in every theatre of operation now and in the future.
